Armageddon Donation Policy
We do allow players to donate to the MUD, if they so desire, with the
understanding that the money goes for ongoing machine/administrative costs,
such as hosting and domain name registration,
and machine upgrades.
- The machine shall be considered the sole property of
ArmageddonMud[1] for all purposes of purchase,
sale, upgrade, maintenance, or administration.
- Donations accepted for purposes of purchasing
equipment/upgrades for said machine must be used
on the machine, put in an account designated for
machine upgrades, maintenance, else returned to the
donator.
- Donations made to ArmageddonMud for purposes of
purchasing hardware/upgrades are to be done so in a
non-obligatory way. Under no circumstances shall
ArmageddonMud be held liable to perform any deeds
or promises due to a donation.
- Donations given by non-staff members shall not exceed
$50.
Clauses
[1] For purposes of machine ownership,
ArmageddonMud shall be defined at any given time
as those holding the rank of Overlord at that time.
Recurring Costs
- $40/month for DSL service
- $70/year for domain name registration
- $100/year for board hosting
- $300/year for banner ad on topmudsites
- $10/year for MudRanger banner listing
- $100/year for miscellanous - flyers, random banner ads, etc.
Our current goal is to raise enough through use
of our bookstore, and the sale of merchandise to advertise more heavily.
Because of diku licensing restrictions, player donations cannot be used
for these purposes.
Again, for those that wish to donate, you do so because you want to. Under
no circumstances will we sell 'upgrades' to your character, or any other such
special favors, because of a donation.
