The Great NPC-Off of 2003 is a competition to determine who can make the most high-quality NPCs over the course of a month. The NPCs are intended to fill an existing gap: the populace of the New Tuluk.

Rules: An NPC must be complete, completely dressed, checked over by a HL+, and checked in by email.

To avoid having the HL+'s too swamped on the last day of the contest to check everything, please have npcs checked as you finish them. Once an npc is checked, send Sanvean an email, cc-ing Laeris, that includes: NPC name, who checked it, where the NPC currently is stored in the game and any suggestions for deployment. I will update the totals as I process these emails.

NPCs must be intended for somewhere in the northlands to count.

At midnight, the last day of January, I'll tally up the totals, and we'll also have some votes on the following categories:

• the most entertaining NPC
• the NPC with the best talk program
• the NPC with the best animation

Prizes will be awarded to the person who wrote the most, as well as for the winner of each of the categories.
