Shik
These small insectoids are relatively common anywhere there is a significant population of larger wilderness creatures, as their primary diet is fresh blood. Latching onto a slow-moving inix as it forages for food and slowly drinking its fill would be considered a great day for a shik. One of the early tricks tought to young survivalists is that the shik somehow filter water from the blood they drink and store each in separate glands for times of starvation; the careful and skilled may obtain both of these from their bodies.
