Skill Trap
The trap skill is used to trap both containers and doors, things that can be opened and closed. When the trapped exit or item is opened, the trap will go off, injuring the person who does the opening.
The trap skill is also used to place and light fuses on previously trapped objects / exits. The most common usage of this is for creating timed explosive devices. When a fuse is used on a trapped object, the result is a timed delay (relative to the length of the fuse) before the trap is activated. When used on a trapped door, the fuse will activate the trap immediately. This is typically done by rogues and others who are attempting to circumvent security precautions by placing the trap inside the locking mechanism of the door. Timed explosives will affect everyone in the general area of the detonation.
Failure to place and light a fuse can result in setting off the original trap in an unexpected manner, or simply leaving the original trap unaffected.
Syntax:
trap <object>
trap <object> <direction>
Example:
> trap door east
> es powder
> trap chest
> es fuse
> trap chest
Notes:
You must be holding the item you want to use to make the trap.
You must be holding an item to be trapped, or be in the same room as an exit you'd like to trap.
Setting a fuse on an untrapped item / exit simply results in wasting a perfectly good fuse.
