Skill Watch

This command allows your character to either watch in a specified direction or a person. If you watch a direction, things the character will see are mostly related to movement and combat. Watching a person will allow you a better chance to notice when they do sneaky things.

You can watch in a direction even if there is no valid exit in that direction, this is so people can watch north as they're travelling north without having to re-type 'watch north' every room.

When inside of wagons and some buildings you can also 'watch out' to see what is happening outside.

Providing no arguments (or 'watch status') will show you what, if anything, you are currently watching. Providing 'none' as an argument will stop all watching.

Syntax:

watch [status]

watch <direction>

watch <person>

watch none

Example:

> watch

> watch morgenes

> watch none

> watch north

> watch up

> watch out

Notes:

Your character cannot be scanning the immediate area and watching things in the distance at the same time.

You cannot guard and watch the same exit. However while guarding you can watch any other exit except the one you are guarding.

Likewise, you cannot guard and watch the same person. However you can use watch on people who might try and affect your charge to help.

Your character must be standing in order to watch things in the distance.

You can watch people from sitting, resting or standing position.

You can notice someone watching you through the assess and look commands.

If you are watching someone and they start watching you, you have a chance to notice it.

Having the skill that is being watched improves your chances of noticing its use.

Fighting someone who you are not watching will stop all watching.

Watching takes concentration, and so while in use your maximum stun is decreased based on how good you are at watching.

Delay:

none
