Welcome to Armageddon MUD. Our MUD has a high learning curve, which means that often brand new players will have a difficult time getting a feel for the world right off the bat. This series of pages is intended to give you a thumbnail sketch of the world.


Introduction: The City of Allanak

There are several centers of population on Zalanthas. The best one, in the staff's opinion, for new players is the city of Allanak. Why? Among other reasons, because there are a lot of players in Allanak. Your character should have less difficulty there finding employment and friends.

Allanak also has a long standing history and tradition that should provide ample roleplaying opportunities for a new character, whether they be a simple farmkid, come in from one of the outlying villages of Menos, Taki or Yaroch to try to make it big in the city, or a child of the streets, struggling to keep body and soul together in a harsh day to day existence.

There are shops in the Bazaar and the Commoner's Quarter where you can buy starting equipment. Spend your starting money wisely, and hang onto at least a little of it. Get food, water, and a weapon, as well as minimal clothing. If you intend to join the mercenaries' Guild, the Tzai Byn, hang onto 300 coins, which is the amount they charge to join. In return for that fee, you'll have food, a place to sleep, training, and some equipment for your first year, which is a pretty good deal.

In trying to find your way around Allanak, the helpfile Allanak Map, which displays a basic outline of the city, will be of enormous assistance.
